Consultants at a large consultancy answer complex tax and legal questions every day. The answer existed somewhere in a huge base of laws, bylaws, official opinions and internal texts, but finding it took too long.
Challenge
The knowledge base covers a large number of regulations and documents that change constantly, with multiple versions and cross-references. Keyword search did not understand questions asked in natural language, and general AI tools invent regulations. Every answer has to be verifiable.
Solution
We built an AI assistant based on a RAG architecture. Documents were analyzed, cleaned and split into meaningful units (law, article, paragraph), enriched with metadata and indexed for semantic search. The AI layer finds the relevant provisions, writes the answer in natural language and shows references to the exact laws, articles and documents. The project was delivered in two phases: an MVP for the internal team, then the complete version for wider and commercial use.
